To Philip Sullivan and his family and friends, you will be long remembered. A very witty man and a strong influence on me academically. Comments: Thanks to all of you who have created this site. I played in the band the New Generation with Tony Morosco, Steve Denton, Peter Moon, and Skip Bursette. We played the AYA a lot, and also a number of gigs our friend "Jim the German" arranged for us. Also played football for Bill Elstran, soccer for Herr Longolius (what a wonderful guy), and basketball for Mr. Rice. I currently reside in Placentia, CA, and have two wonderful kids, my son in college and daughter who lives with me and is a senior. My son races F2000 cars, and hopefully next April we can do the Atlantic race at Long Beach. If anyone wants to email me, I'd love to hear from you. Comments: I did not see Kermit Long on the faculty list I left 1991 and he was still an English teacher there, but going through the faculty list brought back so many memories. Coach Schmoll was a big influence on me, even thoough he did cut me the next season after breaking my leg during practice. Mrs Reed was always my favorite though, she was "cool".

He is still in very close touch with Dana Phelps (Mark's brother) as well as David Jung (class of 1974). Comments: Hello everyone...just wanted to let you know that Rhoda Yawn and her family did make it out of New Orleans alive..she did however lost everything else...the house ..restaurant...personal belongings..etc.I don't know what's happened with Mr. Leonard in Houma. Let's pray for them and for all the people and animals who need help. Meanwhile I will be backstage with Tony Bennett ..Saturday night Sept 17 at the Monterey Jazz Festival to catch up with him and present him a photograph of him and my dad (in uniform) taken in the spring of 1945 near the end of WW2. Some of you know that my dad saved Tony's life during the war. You can read about it on page 59 in Tony's autobiography "The Good Life". I will also be doing TV and radio interviews about this next special meeting with Mr.Bennett. Before I go ...I also want to share that my mom passed in January and now once again my parents are together..resting in Arlington National Cemetery. Special thanks to Joyce, Renate, Jeri, Angelo, Viviane, Laura, Susan and

I was born in BERLIN (my mom is a BERLINer), lived there until I was 5, returned for 5th grade (TAR) and then returned to attend BAHS for 7-12th grades. (THE LAST GRADUATING CLASS WITH THE WALL UP...1989!) After graduation, I worked for the Army until the deactivation in 1994. Needless to say, BERLIN is HOME. It was good to read all the fond memories. Anyone who has ever lived in BERLIN knows "you can take the girl out of the city...but you can't take the city out of the girl". Comments: Okay, 'wannum' who are you? I saw your entry from June, but no name. Actually, I was in BERLIN from '56-'59. Hope to be able to make it back next year. Have not been back to BERLIN since then, but was stationed in Helmstedt from '62-'64. But because of my security clearance, I was not allowed to travel through the DDR. What a bummer! Had a great time at the '03 RU in Asheville, and as good as it was, this one has to top it in location alone. Not a lot on board from my era, but we're all BERLIN Brats, and that bonds us in a way that surpasses most other places. We all survived the "Bubble" of Democracy far inside the Iron Curtain. Unforgettable.

I was in BERLIN from 77-82,and I have never stopped missing it. Even today seeing your website and the names of those who have moved on and still feel the need to keep in touch and share memories of this magical place. I was deeply saddened to see familiar names of those who have passed on, Mr. Payne who helped me through some very hard times during my first year at BAHS, Jack Crowson who just six months before his death, he and I were taking our sleds down the steep hills in the woods behind our house over on Flannaging strasse'. He was a daredevil! It's amazing not seeing or hearing about Ken Payne or Jack Crowson after all these years doesn't make the loss any easier to accept. Does any one know what became of Ken's wife Barbara, or his daughter Kindra? I didn't see Kindra and Jim listed as married Alumni, they were an item through out my school years at BAHS. I am also looking for my best friends who went through those years with me in BERLIN, I've been trying to locate them for some time and never had any luck. If anyone knows how I can get in touch with James "Jim" Batchelder, Lynn Shankelberger, Christine Middlestadt, James and Pat Guynn, I would really be forever in your debit. I'm a criminal investigator here in Honolulu and even with my resources I haven't been able to locate them. Comments: Hello everyone! Looking through this Guestbook sure does bring back some memories! I was in BERLIN from 2nd grade to 7th grade and then from 9th grade to 12th. I was not very popular but I knew a lot of you. My sister is Angie and my Brother is Tony. I keep in touch with only two people and they are Rachael Vasqueze Elsonpeter and Iwalani Pecqueur. I have two children Micheal is 13 and Temara is 11. I have been married for 15 years. I got married before graduation. Some of you were at my wedding. I still look at the video from that day, man what times those were. I miss the freedom we had as kids and now our kids have hardly any. I hope that I can make it too BERLIN! Our last duty station was Wiesbaden, in 1994-1995 and them Jim was sent to Bosnia. He is out now and works for the Military doing Computer Security for Ft. Riley. Comments: I attended BERLIN High School in the 7th grade (1976). At that time the 7th grade on up was in the high school. I attended Thomas A Roberts Elementary School (1974-1975). I had great times in BERLIN. My brother Tony Samuels is listed on your website. He passed away with Pancreatic Cancer. I was with him on his 37 birthday and he had no symptoms. Two weeks later he was told he had Cancer and he died four months later. When asked when the best time of his life was he said BERLIN High School. Thank you.

Little brother of Kim (Graves) Bee who graduated in 77 - boy did she hate having a "pesky" little brother as a 7th grader while she was a Senior. Played alot of sports (baseball, basketball & some tennis) at the DYA; alot of pinball at the various bases. Going from small town Alabama to BERLIN was an awesome experience. Comments: "Re-discovered" the website just recently. What a trip looking at the pictures of the reunions! I always have great plans to go to one-something always comes up to stop me! Anyway, it looks like the years have been kind to everyone. My brothers Carl Dawson (Class of 74) and Charles Dawson (Class of 75) are out here in CA as well. Went back to BERLIN in 2000 with my husband and daughters. I was shocked to see that the PX complex had been razed! When we went in the Allied Museum (Outpost Theater) the National Anthem light was lit and we actually paused before going into the auditorium! I guess old habits do die hard. Would love to hear from Paul Greer, Bernie Beausoleil, Linda Jones, Dirck Harris, Skip Carter, Kirsten Wilson. I lost my yearbook from 1971 in one of my subsequent moves. I really regret that! Some of my best memories are from BERLIN!

Talked to Carol "Cari" (Ghent) Graham '64. We were talking about the time we got sent home from TAR for wearing culottes (perish the thought!) Came close to suspension for that. In light of the piercings, tattoos, bare skin and such today, we were comparatively tame! I also had found a picture of her with her hair in soda cans (the PX didn't have 4"rollers) Lord, the things we had to come up with! We did agree that at that time, with the wall newly up and tensions high, it really and truly didn't matter how much you had, the stuff just wasn't there to buy. I think we all got some pretty good values out of that! Anyway, we're both going to the reunion in 2006...Hope there's more than an token 1/2 dozen of us!!!

Comments: Great website! I wasn't a BAHS graduate (I was there from 77-80; 6th at TAR to 8th grade), but have a lot of good memories. Like the time that the principal came into Mr. Conway's class and asked me to step outside. Apparently they thought I was the one who set the false fire alarm the previous day!! My friend and I were threatened with all sorts of disciplinary action (including being kicked out of BERLIN!) until they realized that we didn't do it and caught the real perpetrators. Yep, good times.... :) Does anybody else remember when Muhammad Ali came to visit? That is a truly good memory!

Comments: I can't believe I found folks from BAH! I attended BAH 1962-64; left BERLIN for stateside in 1965. Of course, I figured everybody totally scattered throughout the world, which, in fact, they did. I believe Ann Nolan went to RADA in England, Von Koch to Yale & Harvard Med School, Lee Angel, I THINK, went to Cal Poly, another went to Hawaii & discovered an insect, Tom Post became a surgeon, Akiko Kamikawa went to Japan....Carrie Ghent & I went to Miami to become airline stewardesses (in 1966...the biggest, longest airline strike in US history, of course!) Anyway, I ended up in New Mexico & became an Air Traffic Controller; got married, got stepkids, grandkids, great grandkids....moved around as a controller & retired in Fremont CA in 1996. Moved to Vegas with my also-retired Air Traffic controller husband...he died in 1998. Now I'm thoroughly enjoying retirement...Since I'm the only one on this site so far from 1964 on the guest book, I'm OLDER than most, so have more history to post!!
